Hill Canyon, Camarillo Maternity Session

Andrew and Christina were one of my favorite couples to have ever come across. From their wedding in 2023, and most recently their maternity session at Hill Canyon in Camarillo- it’s been my joy to watch their journey flourish.
As a photographer in Los Angeles and Ventura County, I believe maternity sessions don’t have to be awkward. Pregnancy flies by so quickly, I highly encourage you to pause and prepare for your session. Never stiff or overly posed but romantic, chic and maybe a little dramatic. ✨
When is the best time for maternity photos?
The best time for maternity photos is the last few weeks of your second trimester into the early weeks of your last. 27-34 weeks. Your belly is nice and round, you have a bit more energy and you’re able to move about.
*If you are high risk or are expecting multiples, 24-26 is a better time.
Personally, I think an outdoor session is so romantic and whimsical.
Hill Canyon in Camarillo was a perfect Ventura County location for these two. The lush, green background is a perfect backdrop for a baby bump. Christina and Andrew dressed in neutrals to better accentuate that baby bump.
I love when clients bring their own personalized props to their session. It makes their session so unique. Christina and Andrew brought roses to their session and it elevated their experience. She also brought a change of clothes to Hill Canyon to have some variety in her images.
